New for 2025/5786

For some, this High Holy Day season will be their first; for others, it will be one of many. However, each year brings something new, and for the TKE community, our clergy and staff have planned some exciting changes:

  • Our evening services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur being at 7:30pm.
  • For Rosh Hashanah, we have several new opportunities to connect: our teens can meet for lunch following services on Rosh Hashanah, Tashlich services in two locations (East Cobb and North Cobb/Cherokee), a fun, apple-picking experience on Second Day Rosh Hashanah, a "Reverse Tashlich" Day on Lake Allatoona, and our Youngish-Adults share a Happy Hour at a local cidery.
  • On Yom Kippur afternoon, following services, we will be holding a special "Isaiah Hour" - a time to remember that doing good for others is an essential part of these High Holy Days. Rabbi Foster will be presenting a new-to-TKE "Alternative Afternoon Service," a great reason to come back after a short rest to finish the day at TKE.
  • To provide greater access to our services, we have added an Assisted Listening system to our sanctuary and will have copies of all of our prayer books in large print format. Please look for signage in our lobby directing you to these services.

For more information on these opportunities and more, check out our Explore section above.

Schedule of Service and Opportunities

The High Holy Days center around Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and our services in the sanctuary. This year, we are also offering a wide-range of activities throughout the month of Elul proceeding Rosh Hashanah as well as during the 10 days between the Holy Days.

Yizkor memorial book

As we approach our most holy season, you can honor and remember your loved ones by listing them in our High Holy Day Yizkor Memorial Book. The book will be available during Yizkor services on Yom Kippur afternoon (Thursday, October 2, at 5:30pm) or for digital download as a PDF prior to Yom Kippur.

To participate in the Yizkor Memorial Book this year, click HERE.

If you have questions, please email memorialbook@kolemeth.net.

2025/5786 Yizkor Book - Digital Download will be available in the days ahead of Yom Kippur.

Honoring all of us in 5786

Throughout our services, you will see segments of our community receive honors. We hope that you see individuals and families just like you. We invite you to join us on the bimah as we honor those who... are new to TKE, expanded their family, celebrated a "decade" anniversary with their partner, are members of the LGTBQ+ communities, ever worked at a Jewish summer camp, participated as leaders of TKE, teach in our Religious School and more. Every one of us experienced something of significance in 5785.  Even if you do not fit into one of these segments, we very much look forward to celebrating you in 5786 and finding ways to honor each of you throughout the year.

Giving to TKE at the High Holy Days

The High Holy Days mark the first traditional opportunity of the year to give beyond membership commitments.

Your annual membership commitment plays a crucial role in sustaining our community, but it is only one part of the puzzle - other pieces include annual fundraising, program fees, and grants. We understand that everyone’s ability to give varies, but we encourage you to consider contributing whatever you can to support TKE’s operational needs. Your donations support every facet of TKE’s mission, from our spiritual services, education, and engagement programing to maintaining our building, fostering community, and supporting social action initiatives. By contributing, you help foster Jewish identity across generations and strengthen our community’s outreach and growth.

Donate during these High Holy Days to support our annual operational HERE.
