Donate to Give-A-Gobble today and make a difference

in the life of a local family or individual in need this Thanksgiving.

Give-a-Gobble is a community food-support program presented annually as part of the Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration.

At our spiritually-fulfilling, inspiring, humorous, and music-filled Interfaith Celebration, we come together as one loving family to collect funds to purchase turkeys and Thanksgiving dinners for our neighbors in need. The Give-A-Gobble program initially grew out of a grassroots effort to help impoverished families in the Cabbagetown neighborhood and the Oakland Food Bank in downtown Atlanta. It has been almost three decades since Give-A-Gobble was born, and today, the need for support in many of our communities exists far beyond just that small Cabbagetown neighborhood. Over the years, Give-A-Gobble has provided annual support to multiple organizations during the Thanksgiving season like the Center for Family Resources, Families First, Family Promise, Food2Kids, Genesis Shelter, Helping Hand Foundation, Inner-city Muslim Action Network (IMAN), JF&CS, Jubilee Partners, New American Pathways, Must Ministries, North Fulton Charities, Pianos for Peace, Sweetwater Mission on behalf of Four Corners, and United Military Care, Inc.

This year, we are happy to feature Family Promise of Cobb County whose mission is to help homeless families achieve stability and independent living. They provide a haven with rotational and transitional housing, along with comprehensive case management and a variety of additional resources. Eighteen (18) diverse, but local congregations and civic organizations partner with Family Promise of Cobb County, each playing a crucial role in offering shelter, meals, and compassionate support for families in need.

It is important to note that Family Promise and its partners are dedicated to providing a supportive, non-judgmental environment where all families can find help regardless of their family composition or background.  They ensure that each family has access to safe housing, essential resources, and the opportunity to achieve lasting independence. Not only are the services provided inclusive but moreover, they are designed to support a diverse range of family structures and backgrounds including single mothers, single fathers, two-parent families, extended families, LGBTQIA+ families, and pregnant women and couples.
