Kiddish Klub Tot Service

Join us for a special Kiddish Klub service at 9:00am on Rosh Hashanah (Tuesday, September 23) and Yom Kippur (Thursday October 2) in the main sanctuary for a toddler-friendly High Holy Day experience.  We bring music, dancing with plush Torahs, stories, and even a shofar to this Holy Day service for our youngest members.  The Kiddish Klub service is intended for preschoolers, their siblings, and their parents.

Youngest, under 18 months

Temple Kol Emeth has always had a tradition of welcoming and encouraging our youngest to be in our services; this year we are working to go above and beyond. We hope that that by helping your child feel welcomed and loved, you will be able to feel more at ease and more personally present.

To help you stay for the main morning service, we are designating a section of our Social Hall as our "Amen Alcove," where your child can take a break to read a PJ Library book, build with foam blocks, and play with other tots. The Social Hall is open to the Sanctuary, so you can stay connected to the service.  Children in this area require a parent/guardian to be present as it will not be staffed.

Children, 18 months to 4th grade

Temple Kol Emeth is pleased to offer childcare services during Rosh Hashanah morning, Yom Kippur morning for our children ages 18 months through 4th grade.  While our parents take part in the holidays with the larger community in the sanctuary, our children will enjoy a few hours of play, song, holiday themed activities, and snacks, under adult supervision. Pre-school children will be with teachers from the JCC Sunshine school, and school age children will be grouped by age, likely Kindergarten-2nd grade and 3rd-4th grade.

Start the morning at our Kiddish Klub service and then those who are age 18 months and over are invited to join the programming described above so their parents can attend the main service. You do NOT need to register for Kiddish Klub; registration is required if your child is participating in the high holy day child care beginning at 10:00am.

To register your children (aged 18month - 4th grade) for childcare, please CLICK HERE or email Rabbi Alter. Registration for Yom Kippur will close on Monday, September 29, at 5:00pm.

A special Family Service will be held at 2:30pm on Yom Kippur (Thursday, October 2) and is geared towards families with children in kindergarten through 4th grade.

Second Day Rosh Hashanah Apple Picking Outing

We are taking advantage of Cobb County School Fall Break to celebrate Rosh Hashanah in the orchard! Bring the whole family to Hillcrest Orchards at 10:30am to spend some time picking apples and enjoying time with TKE friends and family. A lively, family-friendly service will take place under the trees lead by Rabbi Alter, Lauren Davis, and Lissie Levitt.

Youth, 5th - 7th Grade

We invite all of our 5th through 7th graders to attend services in the main sanctuary - to truly experience the High Holy Days.  We all learn by doing - and the sights and sounds of the High Holy Days only become real when they are experienced first hand.  Hearing the melodies, seeing the shofar blown, and participating in the service is the best way to ensure our young people consider what it means to celebrate the High Holy Days.

Teens, 8th - 12th grade

For Rosh Hashanah, we invite our teens to join us in the main sanctuary, where they will experience the sights and sounds of the High Holy Days first hand. After service, our teens are invited to share lunch together, getting a chance to enjoy some casual hang out time together.

RSVP for the teen lunch immediately following Rosh HaShanah morning services HERE.

For Yom Kippur, our teens will meet at 10:00am in the DLC Conference Room to participate in a teen-lead Yom Kippur Service. A committee of our teens is already busy planning! At 11:00am, the teens will join their families in the main sanctuary to hear Torah and conclude the service with the rest of the community.
