Join us for Book It's November co-ed book discussion when we talk about "The Ice Cream Queen of Orchard Street" by Sara Jane Gilman.  The novel is centered around the life of Malka Treynovsky who immigrates from Russia in 1913, is abandoned as a child in New York City but ultimately reinvents herself as a cunning and ruthless businesswoman who builds a massive ice cream franchise.  The story chronicles her rise through major American historical events over the span of 70 years, but eventually her success is threatened and she is in jeopardy of losing everything she has built. The book was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award.
