Nightly Menorah Lighting

Each night of Chanukah, we will be celebrating the lighting of the menorah at 7:00 pm on Zoom.  Grab your personal menorah and join us as we gather as a community.

 Z-Shabbat, Menorah Lighting and Consecration 

On Friday, December 11th at 7:00 pm TKE will be welcoming out newest students to the religious school during our Chanukah Z-Shabbat.  This will include a special blessing by Rabbi Sernovitz and students will be sent a consecration gift and certificate.

Virtual Chanukah Tour of the Old City of Jerusalem 

Join us on Sunday, December 13 at 9:30 am for a FREE virtual tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. This tour will be engaging for families and people of all ages. We will walk through the streets of the Old City leading up to the Kotel, or Western Wall. We will meet local residents of the Old City and discover how they celebrate Chanukah. We will watch the official Chanukah candle-lighting ceremony at the Western Wall.  This program is in conjunction with the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta.

Family Chanukah Concert 

Join Rabbi Sernovitz and Hope Chernak on Sunday, December 13th at 5:00 pm for a very special virtual concert with Rick Recht, Shira Kline and Rabbi Josh Warshawsky for our TKE families.  Following this special concert, our families will be able to light the Menorah with Rabbi Sernovitz.

This event is made possible by the Helen Aronoff Religious School Fund.

Latke Demonstration 

Join Amy Sweet (virtually) in her kitchen on Monday, December 14th at 5:30 pm as she prepares everyone's favorite Chanukah treat--potato latkes!  Her recipe is available here if you want to follow along with her.  Unfortunately, she can't share her delicious latkes through the computer screen.

Chanukah in Your Pajamikahs 

Join Rabbi Sernovitz and Lauren Davis on Zoom on Tuesday, December 15th at 5:00 pm for Chanukah stories and songs. Then, light your menorah with other families. This event is geared towards families with children 2nd grade and under. We will also announce the winner of the Menorah Building Contest.

WRJ Chanukah

Oh Chanukah oh Chanukah!   WRJ invites you to join us on Zoom on Tuesday, December 15 at 7pm for our virtual Chanukah party.  We'll share some stories, light the candles, and have a gift exchange too.   Make sure you RSVP to Sandi Gansel at with "Chanukah" in the subject line to grab your spot.   She will provide you with the Zoom link and additional info. We look forward to an evening of celebration and friendship.

Who wants to see how many candles can fit in one Zoom screen?? Join the entire TKE community in lighting candles together for the final night of Chanukah on Thursday, December 17th at 7:00 pm. Let’s make this the brightest Zoom ever!

Service Opportunity

Help Temple Kol Emeth support those members serving in the military and our local Precinct 4 of CCPD with card making!  Drop off cards at TKE from November 30th to December 13th.
