Weekly Torah Study with Rabbi Larry Sernovitz and Rabbi Steven Lebow

Weekly, Wednesday mornings, 9:30 AM, and Saturday mornings, 9:00 AM; ongoing.

Explore the Torah with Rabbi Sernovitz and Rabbi Lebow:  These classes are full of spiritual learning, camaraderie, humor, and depth for a very different Torah study experience.  To get involved and receive our emails, please contact Steve Antonoff at steve@antonoff.net.

 

Beginning & Intermediate Hebrew (registration required)
Sundays, 9:30 AM for beginning Hebrew and 11:00 AM for Intermediate Hebrew

Follow the siddur in Hebrew with Lynnor Holder:  In this class you will learn the basics of reading Hebrew with Lynnor’s support and patience.  You will be able to begin to follow along in Hebrew at services.  This class prepares you for Hebrew II, where your independent reading will increase.  Who knows: reading from the Torah may be next!

Introduction to Judaism/Pathway to Conversion (registration required)
Sundays, 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

We will explore the grand theme of the covenant between G-d and the Jewish people as expressed through various understandings of Torah extended through thousands of years of Jewish history. As part of this exploration we will learn about holidays, the sacred literature of Judaism, life cycle events, philosophy/ theology, holy languages and the abiding connection to the Land of Israel.  Click here to register.

Judaism and World Religion (registration required)
Tuesdays, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Judaism will be compared and contrasted with other religious traditions throughout the world. The ideas about G-d, Creation, Revelation, Redemption, Mysticism and Ethics which are found in Jewish theology will be matched up with and evaluated alongside similar ideas found in Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism and Sikhism.  Click here to register.
