Blake Singer, Cantorial Soloist

Blake Singer, a nuclear engineer during the week and a cantorial soloist on the weekend, won the United Synagogue Youth National Song Contest over 30 years ago for his first song, "Follow His Ways," and has been writing music ever since.

Blake has been the cantorial soloist for Temple Kol Emeth since 1986. His folk-style music for guitar and voice are used during both worship services and lifecycle events.

Blake has performed his music to audiences both in the U.S. and abroad, where he is helping to raise funds to rebuild the Jewish community in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Blake's CD, "The Journey," is a collection of songs written about the lifecycle events found in Judaism. These songs were written for family members and relatives as they began, lived, and ended their lives. It is a chronological look at the numerous celebrations we are blessed with, and the heartbreaking reminder that life is fragile. included is a set of new melodies for liturgical prayers encountered in the worship service. The CD may be purchased at the TKE Gift Shop.
